Information about Concern
The State-Joint-Stock concern of a pharmaceutical industry “Uzpharmsanoat” is formed in 1993 by the Decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan №УП-609 from June 2, 1993.
The Concern today:
- developed pharmaceutical industry, including 44 enterprises and organizations, among them 3 foreign enterprise, 5 joint-ventures (JV), export-import companies, research institutes;
- partnership and business relations with pharmaceutical companies of Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, India, Turkey, Iran, Switzerland, CIS countries;
- real investments in Uzbekistan pharmaceutical industry;
- growth of annual manufacture volumes;
- industrial and scientific base providing up-to-date manufacture mass medicines production: tablets, capsules, ampoules, extracts, syrups, balms, vaccines, sera, preparations of normal flora;
- manufacture of bandages, absorbent cotton;
- manufacture of polyethylene and glassware;
- production of medical ampoules;
- medicinal plants cultivation and processing.
The basic directions of activity and development of branch are:
- The creation of new and modernization of the operating industrial enterprises on output of pharmaceutical production and products of medical purpose;
- Expansion of manufacture of medical products in assortment and volumes for satisfaction of needs of public health services of the republic and export;
- Maximal use of a local source of raw materials, including medicinal vegetative raw material for manufacture;
- Development and the organization of manufacture for small-amount substances and other active substances;
- The organization of specialized manufactures, with use of the modern equipment;
- Output of auxiliary production and materials for pharmaceutical and other enterprises;
- Ensuring the quality of production at a level of international standards.
To the development of a pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan the big contribution is brought by scientific divisions. There 3 research institutes are functioning in the structure of concern, where 6 doctors of sciences, 25 candidates, 100 scientific employees successfully work, who conduct search and development of industrial “know-how” of preparations on the basis of chemical synthesis, use of local vegetative, mineral, biological raw material.
The medicinal preparations are released in more than 15 medicinal forms to 70 pharmaco - therapeutic groups.
The volume of the output of industrial product in 2007 reached 51,1 mlrd.sum, the rate of growth in comparison with 2006 has formed 137,4%.
The growing of production, both in assortment, and in volume allows enlarging the degree of satisfaction to the institutions of public health and population of the republic need in vitally important medicines.
Widening the assortment to product, qualitative factors, meeting international requirements have allowed enlarging the volume of the product export. For 2007 volume of export has formed 16254,8 thousand US dollars.
The enterprise product is exported in such countries, as: Kazakhstan, Kirghiziya, Tadzhikistan, Turkmeniya, Afghanistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and others.
Necessary to note that factor of the growing of index of financial and economic activity of the enterprises of SJSC “Uzpharmsanoat” is the right choice to strategies of the branch development and support of the domestic producers on the part of Government and Management of the Republic.
The example of this is a Resolution No PP-416 by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 14, 2006 “On measures for support of the domestic producers of medicinal preparations and products of the medical purpose”, the approved on August 11, 2006 by Premier of the republic “Complex of priority measures on improvement and development to pharmaceutical industry”, the approved by Government “Comprehensive program for production raw material and material necessary in preparing medicines and medical product”, Resolution N PP-731 by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 19, 2007 “On the Program of modernization, technical and technological rearmament of the enterprises to pharmaceutical branch for a period of before 2011″ and other documents.
